Tutors at OUTBACK SCRAP

Rachelle Minett, Mt Cotton, Queensland
I have been scrapbooking for nearly 6 years and absolutely love it!!!! I first got noticed by Scrapbooking memories after entering a competition, which I won. From there things just escalated..... I was asked to submit more and more for Scrapbooking Memories and Creative Keepsakes. I have also been involved with almost every extra book that Scrapbooking Memories has published. I have been approached by My Reflections (no longer published). Scrapbook creations, Paper Crafts, and creative cardmaking magazines for submissions as well, all of which have been published. In 2005 I entered the Scrapbooking Memories Masters competition and not only became one of the top 15, but I also won the Beyond the page category for my lamp. With this came allot of extra work and commitments like presenting at craft shows and extra submission work which all extended until the end of 2006. During that time I become a design team member for Scrapbooks and More (no longer there though), and am now on the Scrapapple design team and am an ambassador for the wholesale company Kidston Craft. I have worked at many craft shows and trade events both as a presenter and as a teacher. I have also been approached by many other Scrapbooking shops to come in and teach classes. In amongst all this I also teach classes to local ladies in my own Scrapbooking studio every week. All in all, I love what I do and I love to encourage others to scrapbook as this is a legacy to be handed down to future generations and is totally enjoyable at the same time.
A Craft Affair, Townsville, Queensland
These ladies have been running this independently owned shop in Anne Street, Aitkenvale in Townsville for four years. Starting out as stampers and cardmakers, they then discovered scrapbooking and found that all the crafts can be combined successfully. The business is expanding rapidly and their variety of stock and skills are expanding at the same rate. They run regular classes and offer great advice and support to both town and out-of-town customers alike. Their great mail order service allows this great craft to spread far and wide. They have expended so much that they had to move to a strore twice the size as there old one. They have recently returned from Sydney, Gold Coast and Los Vagas Wholesale Craft and Tutoring Shows.
Alana Steadman, Hughenden, Queensland
Scrapbooking since 2003, and while I have always enjoyed Photography, writing and had a flair for art, this hobby combines all three to record my family’s thoughts and events for many years to come. I love the challenge of bringing a layout together and my personal style has evolved into something very eclectic. My style develops from my photos. I have been published in Scrapbooking Magazines both Australian and American, won layout competitions at the Australasian Scrapbook Papercraft Convention & Brisbane Royal Scrapbook Expo. I recently won the Scrapbooking Australia Scrapper of the Month. I was in the top 10 of the Scrapapple 8 Week Challenge. I have been appointed as Design Team Leader for Scrapbooking.com.au, who I now have been designing for, for 8 months. After teaching at last years Outback Scrap I reliased just how much I enjoyed encouraging and helping others in this wonderful art. I hope someday that my children will be able to look at there albums and know just how much I loved them.
Sandra Gerdes
Sandra is a current Scrapbooking Masters from 2006. Sandra’s BTP project for this years masters was featured on the front cover of the Masters 2006 magazine. Sandra has been on several design team’s and finds her style is more classic than arty.
